“For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.”[2 Cor 1:20]
God has made an eternal Covenant in Christ Jesus and many promises are packaged in the New Covenant for the benefit of His children-the Christians. With His shed blood our Messiah has made total provision for His Bride, “the Church”. In the New covenant God says “All my promises are “YES” in Christ Jesus and your part is to receive it by saying Amen – A faith confession over the promise, for the glory of God “. Such an amazing arrangement by the great wisdom of the Most High God!
Now that we know God has a covenant with us, being a Christian and a child of God, how do we live our daily life in the covenant blessings and security? Many Christians are still living under the spirit of slavery and bondage! Because they don’t know what God says about us in the New Covenant in Christ! And how the Amen is going to bring forth all that you need in your daily lives in this side of your life. I wish that all of you must know this powerful truth as the below God given ways will lead you to HAVE THE LIFE which Jesus died to give you.
1.Know about Jesus Christ and be conscious about the Might of His Covenant!
“You, who are far away, hear what I have done; you, who are near, acknowledge my power! [Isaiah 13:33]”
The above verse has got two fold applications. One is of course an invitation for salvation and living in Christ! The second application will be more relevant for this article contents!
Even though we received salvation as a gift from God, in times we feel God is far away or we feel a diminished state on our faith! What you have to do in this situation is also the same process as to hear the Good news again and again. Feed on God’s word to boost your faith .Because faith comes and rise in your heart by hearing.
Hearing the word of Christ- The Gospel- which is the Power of God! The delivery system of God which is a proven mode for reigning in life.
“So faith comes from hearing that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”[Rom 10:17]
You need to put time to listen and meditate more and more about what Jesus has done for you and the marvelous power of Salvation which you have received. By doing so your faith will be rejuvenated and you feel more close to God. You feel like truly you are dwelling under the secret place or the Shadow “of God, (Psalm91-which speaks about the closeness or the intense attachment to God) which ensures all the protections God has arranged for you in Christ Jesus! The next course of action is that you need to acknowledge or be conscious on whatever you have heard about our amazing savior and USE it appropriately by faith!
Example, we all know that God has forgiven and forget all our sins and God will never be angry with you in the new covenant since all your blessings are paid by Jesus through His crucifixion. Imagine a situation arise where you blow it altogether and feel like God is angry with you due to the wrong you have done and deserve a punishment from God. But the Gospel to be remembered or be conscious about in this particular situation is that God will never condemn you or be angry with you or will punish you child of God! Because all the punishment and the judgment for your entire life’s sins have been poured on the body of Christ and the holy wrath of God are satisfied on the cross through Jesus. In fact God has made it confirmed with an oath as a double iron cladded guarantee in the book of Isaiah …soon after the Messiah has done the payment in chapter 53.
“So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.[Isaiah 54:9]”
What else you want as a confirmation? God SWORE it with an oath for you to know and rest on it! Receive the same by saying Amen on the fact that “You are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus “and apply the same principle for every kind of situation in your Christian walk. Thus you walk victoriously in the blood bought new covenant by acknowledging the Might of our God!
2.Give careful attention to what you hear and USE IT!
“Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you–and even more.[Mark 4:24 & Luke 8:18]
Here Jesus says to his disciples that carefully consider what you hear and use it! It means you need to give full attention to what God says about you or the Gospel of Christ in its real power and essence! We all agree that an active listening includes our body soul and spirit alike to conceive and retain what you have heard in your mind and heart for further use of it. The same is applicable for Gods word as well. Additional benefit God promises here is that the more you USE it, the more will be given to you! Isn’t it a good deal for actively listening and applying it!
Once I was very much worried about money thinking that how will I meet my future needs since our income was very less! Even though earning money through the Job and getting money from ancestral property was a possibility but the obstacles were a concern for me. In fact the money matter was in my heart for quite some time and I was dwelling on it deeply despite me being a believer in Christ!!! God gave me the below verse in that point in time and settle the matter for me.
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”[Hebrews 13:5]
When I received this verse from Bible I was too shocked to realize that I was loving money in one way, because truly I was concerned over my future money needs! But the above verse from Bible as an answer or a discipline from my heavenly daddy was a pleasing settlement for me. He says be free from your worry over money and be content with what i have, because God says I will take care of you with all your needs in life! That’s what it means when He says “I will never leave you nor will I forsake you!” When I carefully considered or meditated on that verse I have understood that If God says I will NEVER leave YOU and FORSAKE YOU, it’s stronger security than having millions of money with me or lots of supporting hands around me which has no guarantee or promise for everlasting security! So whenever the worry over future life, money constraints or the supporting’s from siblings arise in my heart I will immediately USE the promise my daddy God gave me. Don’t worry, be content on what you are or what you have because I WILL NEVER leaves you nor FORSAKE you! We don’t have to be anxious about anything. We don’t have to covet anything, because we have all that we need in the arms of our Heavenly Father. No matter whatsoever it may be the situation. God’s word is always a shield and strength which makes me walk in His covenant promise and I am sure it’s true for every child of God!
3. Know what God says about you!
I will be their God and they shall be my people! [Heb 8:10]
Another one powerful way to live in the new covenant is to live by faith on what God says about you and about Himself. God says I WILL BE YOUR GOD and YOU WILL BE MY PEOPLE! What does it mean when God says I will be your God and you will be my people! The Almighty, Sovereign God, the creator of the heaven and earth is your “ALL IN ALL “or your SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT for each and every need! That means, If it’s a simple answer for a question or a miracle you need in a dead situation in your life it’s the same you will receive from Him. He means it when He says! I am your God and you are my people! It costs the blood of His beloved Son! Remember this! God cannot lie, nor will HE break his covenant!
Whatever it may be the size or nature or worst may be the situation in your daily life! Our God is Mighty to save! The everlasting covenant will unlock all the miracles you need in your life! Your part is to be conscious about the fact that you are a covenant child and walk by that faith! Not by sight! “My just shall live by faith” – Settle on this word!
We saw this wonderful statement demonstrated in the life of many in Bible and believers around us. In Bible David has acknowledged this spiritual power in his heart and USE it to conquer the Goliath in his life. He believed the power of Gods covenant with Him and challenged the goliath calling him… You uncircumcised philistine [He is reminding Goliath that You have no covenant with God] I come to you in the name of The God of Israel…and the victory is mine …because the Lord will fight for me and the victory is sure! David knew that he had a covenant with God. Now, King Saul and all the soldiers with him that day also had the same covenant with God, but only David believed and USES the covenant. David acted on God’s word that “I will be your GOD”! So God caused his giant to come tumbling down. In the same way whatsoever it may be the kind of giants in your life realize that God says I will be your God and the victory will be yours! Whether it’s a sea blocking trouble or a Jericho wall in your way…remember what God says “I will be your God,” it means that He will open the sea for you and knock down the walls under your feet for you to inherit the promised blessings. You are the new covenant priest who carries the “Spirit of Christ in you! “Let us acknowledge and rest on it!
In the above verse not only did God say “I will be their God” He also said “You shall be My people “!
To be Gods people means to be the protected ones. Not all on earth are God’s people—only we who are redeemed by the blood of Christ. During times of uncertainties, crisis and failures, God says to you, “You shall be My people.” This means that you are protected from all pestilences, plagues, anxieties, attacks and destruction. Know this! No harm will befall your tent…protection package for you and your family! Yes ! God’s covenant blessings and power comes into every challenge you face when He says to you, “I will be your God and you shall be My people.” You will experience the supernatural life so naturally! Your part is to believe it & receives it by confessing Amen on what He declares and act like it is so!
All these are possible and true in the life of all the children of God because the new covenant in the blood of Christ Jesus is the covenant of grace. And grace means unmerited, undeserved, unearned favor. God wants us to know that He has cut this covenant with us through Christ our representative. And according to the covenant, we have His undeserved favor. We are blessed because Jesus took all our punishment and made us free. He did the prison exchange for you and me in the new covenant. Because of what Jesus has done on the cross, we have victory over every giant. Isn’t that good news? No matter where you go, God goes with you. If you have received the free gift of Jesus’ life, then you are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, whether you feel His presence or not. God will NOT abandon you! He is closer to you than you possibly could imagine. Today, God wants you to know all these truth and believe it and USE it or declare it over your giant .In spite of what you are going through, in spite of what is happening, you believe that God is for you because of what Jesus has done for you. And then, before your very eyes, you will see the giants of accusation, intimidation, condemnation, disease and debt fall flat before you! You will be above all, in the secret place of our Abba father who will satisfy you with long life!
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. ” [Mark 11:24]
